Do you need a South Carolina trip or fuel permit?

Your truck needs a temporary trip permit for South Carolina when its plates are not apportioned (IRP) for South Carolina, and a temporary fuel permit when it has no IFTA licence. The fuel permit applies when the total weight or the registered weight is over 11,797 kg (26,000 lb), or when the truck or tractor has more than 2 axles; the weight that triggers a trip permit can differ by state.
