A little bit of history…
In 1987, the founder of Permits Canada persuaded the Quebec Minister of Transportation to install a fax machine in his permit issuing department. Permits USA was born.
At that time, we operated under the name of Permits USA and was an affiliate of Transceiver East that was part of a bigger network whose offices were situated in Houston Texas. The network was divided amongst different owners who had each a portion of the United States as its territory. Transceiver East had a territory composed of the Eastern States and of Quebec, Ontario and the Maritime provinces.
At the beginning the mission was to sell temporary permits for the States and some Canadian Provinces which were sent to fax machines located in truck stops strategically located which were set up by Permits Canada.
With time, Permits USA became Permits Canada and expanded its services to include the issuance of temporary permits for all of the Canadian Provinces and included the services of fuel tax reporting and permanent registration and licencing. Over the years, Permits Canada has been able to develop and maintain a quality service in the business of permits for the trucking industry because the personnel at Permits Canada cares.
